This article provides a simple fix to a bug in Dreamweaver 9 on Windows. The bug manifests itself after there has been a time change into or out of Daylight Savings Time. Symptoms are an inability to open projects that were working before. The bug is caused by improper handling of cache files after a time change.
- Use your favorite text editor to create a new plain-text file.
- Add the following to the file…
del "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration\WinFileCache*.dat"
- Save the file to your Desktop with the name fix-dreamweaver.cmd.
To use the fix, first make sure Dreamweaver is not running, then double-click the fix-dreamweaver.cmd file on your Desktop. Next, launch Dreamweaver, and you should find that your projects open normally again. Double-click fix-dreamweaver.cmd anytime there has been a time change to fix the bug.
